G-Shock was born from a dream of "creating a watch that  never breaks." It was over 30 years ago, a CASIO engineer won the battle  against the laws of nature. He designed a watch that would resist  centrifugal and impact forces, as well as high water pressure. Since  then, the name G-SHOCK has become a byword for independence and pushing  the limits. In 1983 the first G-SHOCK was  born. The brainchild of Casio engineer Kikuo Ibe, this new timepiece  shattered the reputation of a watch as a fragile piece of jewellery and  fused function with design to create the uniqueness that is a Casio G-SHOCK. Heartbroken by a broken pocket  watch given to him by his father, Mr. Ibe set about creating ‘the  unbreakable watch based upon a triple 10 philosophy. It should be water  resistant to 10bar, have a minimum 10 year battery life and most  importantly, survive a minimum 10 metre drop. Ibe’s NEVER GIVE UP attitude  towards his aim remains at the very core of G-SHOCK, and is the driving  philosophy of the brand. Pushing forward with leading innovation and  forward-thinking technological advancement, today GSHOCK watches are  equipped with solar power, GPS and Bluetooth technologies and Radio  Control to name just a few.
